The series preview is where you can get basic information for the upcoming series. Check back in before each series to see what is coming up for the Yankees.

Game 1

Monday, April 5 — 6:35 pm — YES Network

Probable Pitchers: Jordan Montgomery (NYY) vs. Jorge López (BAL)

Game Notes: Montgomery had a so-so season in 2020, but capped it off with a modern day gutsy playoff performance in Game 4 of the ALDS, completing 4 innings and only allowing 1 run. The Yankees lineup had trouble compiling runs against Toronto, but hopes to change that against López, who has a 6.23 ERA in 13 career innings against the Yanks.

Game 2

Tuesday, April 6 — 6:35 pm — YES Network

Probable Pitchers: Gerrit Cole (NYY) vs. Dean Kremer (BAL)

Game Notes: Gerrit Cole makes his second start of the season against rookie Dean Kremer, who only surrendered 2 runs in 11 innings against the Yankees in his debut season. Cole had a 1.83 ERA in 19.2 innings against Baltimore in 2020.

Game 3

Wednesday, April 7 — 6:35 pm — YES Network, MLB Network

Probable Pitchers: Jameson Taillon (NYY) vs. John Means (BAL)

Game Notes: This is probably the most anticipated matchup of the series. New Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon will make his debut with the team in the Bronx. Taillon was acquired by trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates and has not pitched in a game in almost two seasons, due to his second career Tommy John surgery. He will square off against John Means, Baltimore’s number one starter who shut down the Red Sox in Fenway in his Opening Day outing.
