New York State and the New York Yankees announced a plan to allow Yankee Stadium to reach 20% capacity to begin the baseball season.

Ticketing

Tickets to the Yankees’ first 11 home games are classified as ‘Limited Capacity Games’. During these games, tickets will only be available for areas of stadium seating that are designated as ‘Ticket Pods’. Tickets can be purchased in pods ranging from 1 to 8 individuals.

Season ticket holders have the first chance at buying tickets to these games. Persons who previously purchased suite tickets to games that became ‘Limited Capacity’ will have the second chance at purchasing tickets to said games. After that, persons who purchased individual game tickets (other than through secondary market re-sellers) to games that became ‘Limited Capacity’ will have their turn, barring availability issues. After that, tickets will be available to the general public, if all games are not sold out. All tickets will be delivered electronically, as a way to cut down on contact with staff.

Entry Requirements

Any attending fans (2 years old or older) must present either a negative COVID-19 test (rapid or PCR) or proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination in order to get in the building. Masks that cover the nose and mouth must be worn by attendees and public-facing staff. Fans must also submit to temperature checks at the door.

Inside The Stadium

Each ‘pod’ will be socially distant from each other. All concessions will accept credit/debit cards, advanced purchases, or touchless payments only (no cash transactions). Mobile ordering through Uber Eats will be available for those on the Field and Main Levels. Prepaid debit cards (without fees) can be purchased at kiosks (including with cash) throughout the stadium. Fans can only eat at their ticketed seat, which also serves as the only time and place when the fan can remove their mask.

Future Update

The Yankees announced that the goal is to expand seating capacity in May with the possibility of removing the requirement for a negative test or vaccination proof. The club hopes that restrictions will be eased or eliminated by the Postseason.
