Yankees Agree to Deals With All Arbitration-Eligible Players
On the same day that the Yankees were reported to be closing in on a new deal with D.J. LeMahieu, the Yankees also reached agreements for 2021 with all of their arbitration-eligible players. Here are all the players and the amounts they will earn this season:
Aaron Judge: $10.175M (Arb-2)
Gary Sanchez: $6.35M (Arb-2)
Luke Voit: $4.7M (Arb-1)
Gio Urshela: $4.65M (Arb-1)
Gleyber Torres: $4M (Arb-1)
Chad Green: $2.15M (Arb-2)
Jordan Montgomery: $2.13M (Arb-2)
Clint Frazier: $2.1M (Arb-1)
By reaching agreements with all arbitration-eligible players, the Yankees avoid the result of battling against their own players in arbitration hearings. The team and the player would have each submitted their desired salaries. Then, a neutral arbiter would have heard each side’s case and decided which desired salary was more justifiable, and that amount would be awarded as the salary for the player that season.
